We had fish and chips with at lovely view at Helens bar. Parked the camper across the road, nice quiet evening, lots of people coming and going. We came here on recommendation and were not disappointed.
What a brilliant place.
Everyone was great when our group of 19 turned up and accommodated us for food without a second thought.
The location was excellent and well worth negotiating the road to get there.
All the food was lovely and I recommend the mussels!

Stunning. The perfect place for a creamy pint and fresh seafood after a beautiful hike through the surrounding forests. The staff are welcoming and warm and look out for Tiger the friendly peering cat, he enjoys a bit of fresh fish and a pat on the head.
Had a fabulous lunch/dinner here. Helen's place is great, right on the coast, I sat outside and enjoyed a toasted special with chips. The fish and chips and all the food looked delicious and mine certainly tasted yummy. Decent portions and very reasonably priced. There were others sitting at tables with their dogs, there were cyclists and some people in campers / RVs all were welcome and one couple said there was no problem parking for the evening there either. Jamie, Helen and all the staff were very welcoming. I highly recommend Helen's and thank them for their hospitality and great service.
Superb location : calm and serenity. We stop for coffee and snacks : very good espresso & fantastic crab sandwich.
It’s a little bit of a drive to get to Helen’s, especially if the satnav brings you over the back roads. But once you’re on the pier at Kilmackilogue, overlooking the peaceful bay ringed by mountains, it’s worth it.
Helen’s is famous for its fresh seafood dishes and outdoor seats (although there’s plenty indoors also). My fish & chips was super fresh with lovely light crunchy batter. And it’s really good value also.

We had a great night. There was singing and everyone was so friendly. We had a beautiful meal plenty to choose from. Helen and all of her staff were very welcoming. Would highly recommend Helen's bar
